DESCRIPTION
The LCD Keypad Shield is an essential plug-and-play interface module designed for Arduino Uno, Mega, Leonardo, and compatible boards. Ideal for makers, students, and engineers across Singapore, this shield eliminates the complexity of breadboard wiring by integrating a 16x2 character LCD display and a 6-button navigation keypad onto a single stackable PCB — ready to use straight out of the box.
The shield consists of a 1602 white character, blue backlight LCD, with a keypad featuring five directional keys — Select, Up, Right, Down, and Left — making it perfect for building menu-driven interfaces in embedded projects. To conserve digital I/O pins, the keypad interface uses only one ADC channel (Analog Pin A0) to read all push buttons, freeing up resources for sensors, actuators, and other peripherals.
An on-board potentiometer allows contrast adjustment, and a dedicated Arduino reset button enables fast debugging without disconnecting your board. Backlight brightness is controlled via Pin D10, supporting both full on/off switching and PWM-based dimming for power-sensitive applications.
