Brushed DC motors convert electrical energy into rotational motion via physical contact between carbon brushes and a rotating commutator. They are simple to drive, require only a voltage source and direction control, and are available in a wide range of sizes, voltages, and gear ratios.
The range includes yellow TT gear motors for standard two-wheel robot chassis, N20 micro gear motors for compact builds, and standard hobby DC motors in various shaft diameters. Gear ratios from 1:10 to 1:300 cater to speed-focused and torque-focused applications.
Brushed DC motors are used in Arduino and Raspberry Pi robot chassis, RC vehicle drives, conveyor systems, simple automation mechanisms, STEM competition robots, and any maker project requiring a low-cost, easy-to-control rotary drive.
