Electromagnets

Electromagnets convert electrical current into a controllable magnetic force, allowing a microcontroller to attract, hold, or release ferromagnetic objects on demand. Unlike permanent magnets, an electromagnet's field collapses instantly when power is removed, making it suitable for dynamic switching applications.

The range includes flat-face DC electromagnets in various holding force ratings and voltage configurations, suitable for direct GPIO-driven switching via a MOSFET or relay module.

Electromagnets are used in Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects for magnetic door locks, coin sorting mechanisms, material handling prototypes, automated pick-and-place systems, electromagnetic brakes, and STEM education demonstrations of electromagnetism, force, and circuit switching principles.
