DESCRIPTION
TXS0108E is a High-Speed Full-Duplex 8 Channel Logic Level Converter. If you’ve ever tried to connect a 3.3V device to a 5V system, you know what a challenge it can be. This bi-directional logic level converter is a small device to convert 1.8V 3.3V 5V logic level safely on the same channel.
This 8-bit non-inverting translator uses two separate configurable power-supply rails. The A port tracks the VCCA pin supply voltage. The VCCA pin accepts any supply voltage between 1.2V - 3.6V. The B port tracks the VCCB pin supply voltage. The VCCB pin accepts any supply voltage between 1.65V - 5.5V. Two input supply pins allow for Voltage bidirectional translation between any of the 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V logic level.
The output enable (OE) can be tied to VCCA to enable the outputs at all times. To have the device power up with the outputs disabled, use a pull-down resistor to ground which keeps the outputs off until it is enabled by driving the pin HIGH under MCU control. Disabling the OE is also useful for ultra low power applications since it shuts off the pull-up resistors and drops the idle current to a few uA.
