LEDs (light-emitting diodes) are the most widely used indicator and lighting component in electronics. They convert electrical current directly into light, are highly efficient, and are available in a wide range of colours, sizes, and viewing angles for different applications.
The range includes standard 3mm and 5mm through-hole LEDs in red, green, blue, yellow, and white, as well as bi-colour and RGB common-cathode and common-anode LEDs for colour-mixing applications.
LEDs are used in Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects for status indicators, visual feedback, display elements, persistence-of-vision builds, and light-based sensor experiments. They are also used in STEM education kits, breadboard prototyping, panel indicators, and any project requiring a simple, low-cost visual output.
