DESCRIPTION
The solenoid is essentially an electromagnet with a metal slug in the center. When voltage is supplied, the slug will push forward. Attached is a spring on the end so the slug can return to its original position when power is removed. There are mounting holes on the body so you can secure the solenoid to your structure.
Please note that when the solenoid is activated for long periods of time it will become very hot, and can even burn when touching. The correct way to use a solenoid is to activate only when required, not for prolonged periods of time.
